I'm so amused/irritated by the way fandom responds to Elena's attraction to Damon.
Once I said something about Elena being obviously attracted to Damon, and I got accused of all the standard things D/E shippers get accused of from time to time. So now I thought I'd be careful and write a Paragraph That States The Obvious, because, apparently, it's necessary if I want to avoid misunderstandings...
Right now it doesn't seem to me that Elena has any intention of going there with Damon, but I can't truly predict anything on this show, lol.
I think Elena will go there with Damon, but it's a speculation based on the plot structure, not on Elena as a character. There's just been too much foreshadowing.
I can't even, I just love the idea of two people who just cannot make it work, but they are stuck with each other because whatever is between them is bigger than them. With Damon and Elena--they can't be together because they're too volatile, but they can't truly stay away from each other because THEY KEEP COMING BACK, it's inevitable, and outrunning the inevitable is exhausting, and they can't lose the one person in the world who truly ~understands them. What they have is something that exists against (and in the absence of) hope, or happiness, or redemption. And man, if that does not hit all my fictional kinks, I don't know what does.
I NEED THIS PARAGRAPH IN SOLID GOLD, AND THEN I NEED ALL THE D/E FICS TO WORK ACCORDING TO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE THAT HAPPEN? #too many emotions
It inspires me to get back to my top ten D/E scenes list that I've been secretly working on behind a curtain. Maybe I'll actually get it done before the show comes back.
I NEED THIS TO HAPPEN! I want your top ten!!! I'm going to figure out my own top ten list, and I'm not even going to post them or describe them, I'll just write them down and see if we make similar choices.
