I shall reflect some more, but I think Damon totally writes long emo posts about his existential crises, but almost always deletes them or locks them down because he's got a reputation to uphold, you know? His public posts are mostly brief, snarky observations and making fun of Stefan. Oh, and frequent rants about Stefan being uptight and fucking werewolves who ruin his night and maybe if there was more to do in this craphole town he wouldn't have to preoccupy himself with eating so many people.
He once wrote a barely disguised, totally OTT, deliberately cliche, uber-sappy Stefan/Elena fic to make a point. Elena apparently didn't notice, but he thinks Stefan may have cottoned on because he stopped posting love poems dedicated to Elena on his LJ.
(Elena totally did notice, btw, but she decided that commenting on it would only reinforce Damon's attention-getting antics. She retaliated by posting Damon/Alaric slash under severe flock so only Bonnie and Caroline could read it. Caroline couldn't look either of them in the eye for weeks. Bonnie still can't.)
Also, "shut up it's a valid lifestyle choice" is totally one of Damon's tags.
