I agree with absolutely everything you said. If I have to be frank, I don't believe that Damon and Elena will ever have sex. This relationship isn't about good sex as you've said, it's about forbidden love, love that can never be consumed because it's so fucked up, because they are so fucked up. It's about friendship and it''s about passion.
And yes, Elena is getting more and more manipulative and scenes like the one in 3x04 are probably even more likely to happen from now on. They can end in a very ugly way though...
AND YES! Thanks for saying that he's still in love with Katherine....because c'mon you can't just stop loving someone who you've loved for 145 years, no matter how much he or she hurts you. I also agree about Damon actually being in love with the idea of loving someone.
